Does anyone know how to make sm. vases from table knife handles? I have an upcoming wedding. Martha Stwart made sm. individual vases from (table) knife handles. They are so neat, and each one is different. I can't find the instructions. Does anyone know how to make them, or how to remove the blade? Please help!

woodturner replied: "I missed that show. I presume it was done with an assortment of thrift store knives? If you know when the show aired, you should look in the archive (see link). If you can't find it, send them an email. The blade on a hollow handle table knife is permanently attached. I'd guess that they removed it with brute force--vise and hammer--or using a propane torch to loosen the handle."

What's the difference between a table knife and a butter knife? I know what I think the difference is, but I just realized some people think otherwise.

justme replied: "A butter knife is smaller and a table knife usually has a serrated tip."

susan T replied: "A Table knife has a serrated edge a butter knife is just flat edged and is also smaller."

elsa replied: "I grew up in a household that did not know, nor care. This issue is not something that we considered important. I wish this was something I considered to be important. My life would be so much more simple than it has turned out to be. Just kidding. Honestly . . . I am a heathen and have no etiquette. I have no answer for this one."

Could a table knife be used to smoke cocaine? I found a partially burnt knife hiden at my boyfriends. I have also found hallowed out pens. What other house hold items can be used? or other sneaky ways is it smoked? What other items should I look for? He knows i've been watching him so he is not doing it the normal, reguular or obviouse ways. He's trying to be sneaky.

forestbythesea replied: "No offense, but why stay with this guy. He's obviously using drugs and if he's unwillingly to let his family, friends, or you help him, then it's a go no where but trouble relationship. Honestly, I wouldn't know what is used to smoke crack/cocaine, but if you've caught him using before and you are finding these things, probably so."

Golden replied: "i have to agree with first poster."

Me. replied: "Look for straws."

Who made this table knife? How old might it be? Knife is marked Widmann, and 90 or .90 for silver content. It has a hallmark I can't identify on the German silver hallmarks sites. I assumed the piece is German because it has the word "rostfrei" or rust-free, on the blade. Could it have been made elsewhere? Does it have any value?

tigris replied: "check out this website: Usually silverware is worth at least the price of silver, but it's unlikely to make you rich."

Is it no longer considered it to be bad manners to hold a table knife like a pen? I used to get a slapped wrist if the knife handle was sticking up between the thumb and forefinger when I held my knife

Meeeee! replied: "Table manners haven't changed much over the last 100 years, so yes it is considered bad manners to hold your knife like a pen."

bearsxblot replied: "i don't think anyone cares about small table manner things like that. As long as u don't eat like a pig, no one is going to care. I use a soup spoon when i should use a tablespoon and vice versa."

itachi_92 replied: "uh...how do you do that? i can't see how you can grip it like that, but i also don't see why it should be bad manners: its not affecting anyone else."

Captain Pugwash replied: "i just use my fingers to pick up my food, i can get more in my big mouth that way and the food that gets stuck under my nails keeps me going for hours after the meal"

emnemz replied: "i dont think its bad manners, i just dont know how u manage to cut food holding your knife like that. lol"

Bob T replied: "it's ok with me."

Felicity O replied: "We may be in for a change, but when the USA thought they ruled the world, USA citizens thought it was poor etiquette to keep hold of your knife. You were expected to chop up your meal into bite-sized morsels, then lay your knife on the side and continue eating your meal with your fork. I still don't like to see people scooping up peas with their fork, but I'm ancient."

where is a good place to buy a sharp table knife,I would like to get one,but I'm not sure where to get one any suggestions, ideas?

Darius S replied: "walmart"

mck1245 replied: "Get knives from Cutco. My son sells Cutco. Damn, after one year, those knives are still sharp!! Email me: "

sunshnedaydrem replied: "I buy all my kitchen utensils, silverware, cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, etc... from, believe it or not, TJ Maxx! The one near me, at least, has an AMAZING selection of kitchen supplies for a GREAT deal. If you've neve rbeen to TJ Maxx, it's a discount store that sells high-quality, name-brand clothing, accessories, and basically any home furnishing thing you might ever dream of. I also recommend Kohl's... I recently bought a 30 piece set of silverware there for $16!!!!! Or, if you're a little more high-class than me and have the money to spend on something REALLY GREAT, go to Williams and Sonoma- they have everything!"

calgrl replied: "Go online to RadaKitchenStore.com. They have THE sharpest knives, and the MOST reasonable prices ever! They have everything in the way of knives, both cooking, and table knives, and the best part is , they are MADE IN THE USA !! ( in Iowa )"

lady JG replied: "Cutco is a fantastic knife company. The knives are well balanced and sharp. They will also arrange to resharpen them when needed. They have a web site as well as catalog. Cutco.com is the address."

pinkmangobaskets replied: "linens n things has a huge silverware selection and bed bath and beyond not bad on pricing either"

Is there a website with instructions on how to take out your appendix without anastetic? I heard this can be costly in a hospital so I thought I would do it myself, in case my appendix ever burst. For the moment I am fine. I have a table, knife, some cotton, a mirror and alcohol. I even have a bed and ice cream for post surgery. I don't want anastesia and I'd like to give it a try myself. Any websites I should check out or does anyone know what to do??

KB replied: "yeah 1-800-SUICIDE give them a call, because that is what you are asking for. You can't perform surgery on yourself, and even if you didn't manage to cut a major artery, damage other internal organs, bleed to death - you would most certainly end up with one heck of an infection. So why don't you start preparing your will, because trying to do this yourself isn't just stupid, it's suicide."

samssculptures replied: "The world needs ditch diggers too."

bella361 replied: "Sadly there likely is a website explaining the very thing you ask. However I would caution you in doing so. Your writing structure is decent so I'm guessing you are educated to some degree and either trying to make a statement or just have shitty insurance. Could be you are just a regular middle class person like myself who is frightened to go to the doctor in fear of having to take a second mortgage out on your house to have any medical procedure done. I think your question belongs before the house of representatives, not in this forum. There are millions, no probably more than that, Americans in the same situation asking themselves the same question. Pathetic really and very very sad."

boonietech replied: "www.peoplewithnobrains.com"

Jessica H replied: "There probably is a website out there but I would recommend becoming a doctor before attempting such a thing. Try searching for colleges with medicine degrees. Oh, and good luck with your insurance company - they make us all scared to go to the doctor."

iamcreen replied: "" in case my appendix ever burst. For the moment I am fine." If your appendix did in fact burst, my understanding is that you'd be in an unbelievable amount of pain and it would be unlikely that you would be steady or clear headed enough to perform such a procedure should it be necessary. Since you've got time to prepare, perhaps an emergency medical fund might be something to consider setting up. good luck!"

stefanie a replied: "if u dont eat crappy shit and ur diet is well, and ur medical history doesnt hint of u possibly having any internal organ problems..then ur good. otherwise...if it did burts..you'd be on the ground crying and would be in no condition to attempt to pick up a knife. and even if you tried to do it w/o anesthesia...you would pass out from all the pain and then you would just bleed out..and die..on the flor, or bed or table or wherever ur planning to do it. so yea...good luck if you try! heh"

doowopper replied: "You are a first class idiot"

I washed & dried my daughter's shirt with a sticker on it. How do I get it off? I got some off by scraping it with a table knife but I can't get it all off. I re-washed it but it's still there.

mommie to a preemie replied: "Its ruined. sorry that sucks."

I'll make it. replied: "just try getting as much off as you can...then let it air dry and try again...it might take a couple times but should eventually come off"

Sandra D m replied: "hold a warm cloth on there and steam it if you must it will come off"

m d replied: "try putting it in the freezer then scrape it off"

Do you think Big Brother put Michelle and Ben together deliberately? And gave them, table, knife and fork deliberately for the task, because of what Uncoolio said?

♥ caroline ♥ replied: "I think they did. They could have put him with Mutya or Lucy to make a celeb couple."

it jst me replied: "yes defo lol i love ben!"

francol replied: "Yes, they actually make a nice couple, hmmm ~x~"

♥♥♥Hotlips4000 CBB is Back ;)♥♥♥ replied: "Yeah, they definitely did do that deliberately! ;) Cause of what Coolio said,...BB thought they would try and find out if there's truth in it! I think Michelle does fancy Ben,..she's trying to hide it but it's obvious she does, ;) I think Ben might like her to!,...but he doesn't give it away as much as she does in her body language. Ben is a good looking Guy ;),..but he's a bit too quite and boring for me.!"

Emma B replied: "Yeah probably... Michelle to win"

Whip don't take no shite replied: "Yeah definately, very clever of BB I thought, they usually miss these opportunities"

shona.doll replied: "Just putting the big wooden spoon in !!!! LOL"

Bluebell replied: "Of course they did! They are always trying to stir it up to make for good viewing!"

Can you name uses for a license plate that isn't considered a normal use? Can you name uses for a license plate that wouldn't be considered normal use? Example; table knife: a mirror, a screwdriver, a splint, and a letter opener. Serious answers only! I will choose the best answer and you'll get ten points. Thanks!

Deb replied: "The old timers would use a piece of metal like that to nail over a hole in the wall. Like mouse holes. My child use to like them to decorate her wall with. Like a picture."
